Duncan has worked in theatre, television and on major live events for the past 13 years. Based in London, his work has taken him from London’s West End and Broadway, to a remote island in the Arctic Ocean, Jan Mayen, and New Zealand.
Recent productions include PRIVACY at the Donmar Warehouse, which transferred to the Public Theater, New York, in the July 2016. Also CITY OF ANGELS at the Donmar Warehouse, Secret Cinema’s 28 DAYS LATER, STAR WARS and DR STRANGELOVE, THE BODYGUARD and SHREK. Duncan is also part of the creative team developing a brand new musical, EUGENIUS.
Last year, Duncan was listed amongst other creatives and actors in the What’s On Stage’s 11 Faces to Look Out For in 2016 article.
He has a fantastic team working alongside him that together form Duncan McLean Projection, which is made up of highly skilled video programmers, engineers, animators and film crew. Many of them are considered to be the best in the industry and Duncan is privileged to work with them all.
In April 2015, the Donmar’s production of CITY OF ANGELS, directed by Josie Rourke and designed by Robert Jones, won two Olivier awards for Best Musical Revival and Best Lighting Design.
THE BODYGUARD is currently playing in the West End at the Dominion Theatre, produced by Michael Harrison and David Ian. In November 2015, it started its run at the Musical Dome in Cologne, Germany, produced by BB Promotions. In 2016 it will start a North American Tour and run in South Korea, followed by Australia in 2017.
Over the last 6 years, Duncan has worked closely with QDos Entertainment, Michael Harrison Entertainment and Steve Jonas to produce video and projection content for many of their 24 pantomimes across the UK.
Aside from theatrical design, Duncan has worked as a cameraman and editor for BBC News for over 7 years, and also BT Sport and Objective Television – including the London 2012 Olympics for the BBC.
